How Does Making a Custom Piece Work?

Sometimes you want something special, a little over the top, or something super personal. These are my favorite pieces to design!

One client has always wanted a simple but statement diamond necklace, a classic emerald cut diamond but set east to west on a shorter 16" chain. This began as a passing conversation... and as her five year anniversary began to creep up, her husband reached out to me.

I first sent him a sketch and inspo pictures of what she wanted, then I began the search for the stone. This is the key component in a piece like this, since the stone chosen is what will dictate the final pricing.

I looked at a few different emerald cut diamonds, and we settled on a .75ct G-color VS1-clarity stone, to be set with super delicate claw prongs. The end result was amazing, and the size of the stone is perfect for everyday wear (but special enough to have people stop and ask about it!)

Another example of a custom job is a reset of an old piece to create something new and modern! Get in touch if you want to explore any of these ideas!
